Peninsula Plaza, Bangkok. From the 7th until the 20th of May, Sherry Phungprasert and Luke Cassady-Dorion will host an exhibit of personal photographic works at the Peninsula plaza in order to raise money for the Camillian Social Center; benefiting children living with HIV and AIDS and the Seva Foundation, benefiting programs to prevent blindness and restore site in India. Both artists and the Peninsula plaza will donate 100% of their profits to charity. India is a hard country to accurately capture on film, and the unique handling of color by the Hogla camera is one of the few which successfully capture the mood of the country in a single image. The shear scope and density of the country is made apparent in the Horizon Panoramic Photographs, many stretching 30-40 inches in length and representing 180 degrees is vision. An opening event will be held on May 7th at 6pm, all work will be available for sale that day and up until the close on the 20th. In order to make the art accessible to everyone, various sizes will be printed and framed and offered at prices ranging form 6,000 – 20,000 Baht. This is a unique opportunity to bring a piece of India to your home, while also helping those in need. About Camillian Social Center The Camillian Social Center, located in Rayong, was established in 1995 to offer “shelter and care to the homeless, indigent and rejected people living with HIV/AIDS.” Special emphasis is placed on women and children. The center provides health-care options for patients and also teaches job and life skills to people able to move back to the general community. About Luke Luke Cassady-Dorion brought a life-long interest in photography and Indian culture together by spending a total of five months photographing their people and culture. He is currently based in Bangkok where he continues his passions by teaching Ashtanga Yoga and working as an artist. He is also studying a Bachelor's in Thai at Ramkamheng University. About Sherry Sherry Phungprasert, an actress who has starred in several international films including an Award winning French film, and an American film opposite Michael Madsen is already familiar with charity work. When given the chance to combine charity work with her hobbies, she quickly took the opportunity. Although she is new to photography she has already won the Holga Show 2.0 competition for 2008 run by the USA-based Photomedia Center.
