india has this way of jumping right out at you. the colors, smell and huge population are beyond unique. capturing this experience on film can be rather challenging, as a single image rarely does justice to the experience of being there. the lomographics holga and horizons cameras are known for the ability to warp colors, especially when the film is cross-processed. light leaks through the plastic body of the holga and the horizon's 180 degree panoramic lens captures much more than a normal camera is able to. using both of these tools, we were able to document india in a way that traditional (especially digital) cameras are unable to pull off. this feeling is further enhanced when you see large-format high-quality prints. all proceeds from the sale of our work will be donated to the camillian social center in rayong which benefits children living with hiv and the seva foundation which works on blindness prevention programs in india. join us at the opening party on may 7th at 6pm; work will remain until the 20th. all works will be on display at the peninsula plaza (map) (ratchadamri road, walking distance from both ratchadamri, chitlom and siam bts stop.) |
