An exhibition of color photographs by 32-year-old American photographer, Luke Cassady-Dorion will be on display from November 10 – December 22, 2009, at Eat Me Restaurant. The exhibition, “2922”, comprises 10 large-scale landscape photographs taken in the United States during the last 20 days of the Bush administration. For his first Bangkok solo exhibition, American photographer, Luke Cassady-Dorion, a student at Ramkhamheng University, Bangkok, presents 10 color photographs of the United States at the end of the Bush administration. Luke’s contemplative and powerfully structured works were shot in various locations throughout the US, and explore the boundary between the beautiful and the commonplace. Gritty scenes of derelict cars, roadside architecture and signage take on a romantic beauty that examines a silent and austere world influenced by but largely absent of men. Inspired by the Obama victory, the photographer saw the election as a paradigm shift in the US. These introspective photographs exemplify this period of transition. “2922” is open to the public daily between 3PM and 1AM at Eat Me Restaurant from November 10 through December 22, 2009. ART NEWS Contact: นิทรรศการภาพถ่าย งานเดี่ยว ครั้งแรกที่กรุงเทพฯ ของ ลุค แคซสาดี-ดอเรียน (Luke Cassady-Dorion) อายุ 32 ปี เปิดการแสดง ณ ร้านอาหาร Eat Me ตั้งแต่วันที่ 10 พฤศจิกายน จนถึงวันที่ 22 ธันวาคม นิทรรศการนี้ ชื่อว่า 2922 รวบรวม ภาพถ่ายขนาดใหญ่ 10 ภาพ ถ่าย ที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาในช่วง 20 วันสุดท้ายที่อดีต ประธานาธิบดี George Bush ทํางานอยู่ ในการแสดงภาพถ่ายงานเดี่ยวครั้งแรกในกรุงเทพฯ ลุค แคซสาดี-ดอเรียน นักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยรามคําแหง นําเสนองานชุดใหม่ที่ได้แรงบัลดาลใจจากที่ ประธานาธิบดี Barak Obama ชนะการเลือกตั้ง ซึ่งแสดงถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงของแนวความคิดของชาว อเมริกัน อย่างงานของ ลุค ซึ่งถ่ายทอดผ่านภาพถ่าย ได้งดงาม ลึกซึ้ง เพียงภาพที่ชินตา กลายเป็นงานศิลป์ ผ่านปลายชัตเตอร์ของลุค ผู้ดึงเอาความงามลึกซึ้งออกมาให้ได้เราได้ ชื่นชม อย่างรถเก่าที่จอดทิ้งอยู่อย่างเดียวดายริมถนน ทั้งป้ายริมถนนก็กลายเป็น สถาปัตยกรรมชิ้นเอกได้ ความงามแสนโรแมนติค จากภาพนิ่งก็สามารถเล่าเรื่องราวอัน ประทับใจได้ โดยปราศจากคําบรรยายใด ๆ 2922 จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 10 พฤศจิกายน ถึง 22 เดือนธันวาคม 2552 ที่ EAT ME ART RESTAURANT ซอยพิพัฒน์ 2 (ซอยคอนแวนต์) ทุกวันระหว่างเวลา 15.00น.ถึง 01.00 น. สอบถามข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมโทร 02-238-0931 |
